The Royal Astronomical Society
The Royal Astronomical Society is looking for an Assistant Editor to
process research papers submitted for publication to its leading research
journal, Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society
<https://academic.oup.com/mnras> (MNRAS). This is an administrative
position which involves using a web-based submission and tracking system
and handling the resulting correspondence with authors, scientific editors,
referees and the publisher. Good English and communication skills are
essential, while a scientific background and interest in astronomy is
highly desirable. Degree level education is preferred. Experience of
working on academic journals would be helpful but is not essential.

Starting salary is GBP 29,050. Annual leave entitlement is 20 days,
rising to 25 days after 5 years (exclusive of standard UK bank holidays and
RAS Privilege days). Typical working hours are 09:30 to 17:30
