Not especially new now, but they are about the technique,
1. using google analytics event data to measure the difference in subsequent behaviour of web visitors
using an online game after getting a "good" or "bad" game score (with a clear measured difference in likelihood of exhibition information and calls to action)
This is powerful because it is not a sample - the results are the data from every single play of the game

I included a fair bit of detail on how to plan the naming of data captured so people can ubderstand it in analytics tools etc
2. Linking web visitor INTENT to their subsequent BEHAVIOUR (which shows the difference between patterns of behaviour within intent sub-segments varies from overall average behaviour)
Even older, but also still valid, uses the technique of linking micros-surveys to behaviour tracking

Subject: Evaluating online visitors (website, social media etc)
Hi,
I'm looking for examples of museums that have undertaken detailed visitor research into their online visitors (ie their website, social media followers etc).
Ideally this research would be relatively recent, or even current. I'm mainly interested in the process of the research, rather than the results, at this stage.
Maybe people could reply off-list and I can circulate any responses in due course.
Many thanks,
Rebecca Atkinson
