Hello Juliet and Mandy,
I'm from the UK federation team at Jisc
Identity Providers (IdP) in the UK federation such as yourselves should
be running both SAML1 and SAML2. As these are independent of one
another, then it's possible you may have a functioning SAML2, but a
non-functioning SAML1.
Service Providers (certainly new ones) should be using SAML2. A lot
of existing SPs are however using SAML1, and that is why we urge IdPs
to have both available.
Given the mixed responses that some IdPs are working and others not
with this SP, then it maybe worth you asking your technical teams to
run through http://test.ukfederation.org.uk and try each of the Session
Initiators (which cover the various methods of SAML1/SAML2 operation),
it should be obvious when/if this fails, but we can also check the logs
our end. Following this they can raise a call by mailing service@ukfed
eration.org.uk, if they require assistance.
Cheers,
Jon
