We use EDS but still use SirsiDynix webcat (e-library opac) for the local catalogue interface. EDS links back to the catalogue record to see if its on loan or place a hold.

Subject: Does anyone use EDS as their library catalogue?
There may be a better list on which to seek advice / discussion about this topic, so please set me right if you know of one. I am looking at ways to more fully exploit EBSCO Discovery Service as it could save us buying a post search filterable catalogue interface.
I have added our library catalogue as a source database and can search it on its own, but the mapping of things like Location, Shelfmark, Loan status, I do not understand from a first inspection. Also, I would like to turn up hits for ebooks only alongside print copies in our collection but I do not see how to do this either.
I would be very interested to discover how any one else has made better use of this facility especially if you have chosend it as your main catalogue interface.
Thank you.
