My client is a leading provider of asset mapping; modelling and engineering solutions using a range of data capture methods: LiDAR, photography and other remotely sensed data. They are looking for candidates keen on starting a career on one of their production teams, using Remote Sensing, GIS and Electricity Engineering skillsets.
The role is initially offered on a contract via Triad and at the end of the contract period, the client will look to make a permanent offer. The role is ideally suited to graduates or people looking for their first opportunity in the UK or first or second job in the industry.
We are seeking enthusiastic and capable graduates to fulfill the role of GIS/Geospatial Processor with our client. The individual would be responsible for the post-processing of a range of remotely sensed data captured by our field teams.
Typically, the roles of a GIS/Geospatial Processor involve:
A) Production of spatially accurate LiDAR point clouds and orthorectified sets of aerial imagery
B) Classification, mapping and spatial modelling of data
C) Modelling Power Line circuits and networks as well as producing various reports using CAD software.
Ideally, the candidate will have knowledge of one or more of the following areas: LiDAR and Remote Sensing, Surveying, GIS, Electrical or Civil Engineering. Those with a more general geospatial, mathematical or scientific background are welcome to apply for the role and full training is provided.
One of the important aspects of our work is to ensure that the outputs are produced to a high standard and that the spatial accuracy of the data complies with specification, meaning that close attention to detail is required. The candidate should be able to demonstrate critical thinking and an innovative approach to problem solving. It is essential that the candidate is IT literate and confident in the use of Microsoft Office applications, it would be advantageous to have experience in CAD/GIS software. Ideally, the candidate will have a scientific background related to one of the subject areas listed above and is educated to degree level or has relevant work experience.
This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates or someone looking for their first industry job within GIS or Geospatial. If the profile matches your skills and you are interested, please drop over a CV.
