Inspiring readers
Speaker: Ashleigh Brown from Book Aid International will talk about their flagship programme which stated in 2016 working with public librarians to outreach their local primary schools and help them set up school libraries of their own. Inspiring readers aims to improve the reading opportunities of 250,000 African primary school children. The programme launched in Kenya in June 2016 and will be rolled out in Cameroon. It is planned to expand the programme to Malawi, Uganda, Zambia, Zanzibar and Zimbabwe in the future. Please see http://www.bookaid.org/aboutus/our-work/programmes/inspiring-readers/ for further details.
ILIG Informals are not lectures; they are informal, but informative, early evening meetings with a short talk on a theme of international interest plus plenty of time for questions and networking. They are open to all and absolutely free. We look forward to seeing you!
Light refreshments are served which is why we ask you to let ILIG know you are coming by booking online at http://bit.ly/2fZ6w9r.
