Overview:
To work as part of a small but busy team supporting the GIS Manager in the maintenance of my clients worldwide database of seismic and E&P information. The team works particularly closely with our sales and business development units to assist with a diverse range of geographical information based tasks. The role requires a working knowledge of ArcGIS 10.x
Key Responsibilities:
• Provision of length/area measurement statistics, E&P licencing information, trends and other geographic analytics to assist with sales opportunities.
• Creation and maintenance of high quality E&P digital and paper maps using ESRI ArcGIS
• Proactive maintenance of my clients geographic database of seismic and E&P data, using ArcGIS.
• Creation of length/area measurement statistics, E&P licencing information and trends to assist with sales opportunities
• Working with Business Development teams to assist with the generation of new projects using maps and spatial statistics.
• Provision of geographical information to the Geoscience team in vector/raster formats, paper/ pdf maps & figures and integrated GIS projects, including georeferencing maps and capturing digital data from them.
• Ensure familiarity and conformance with Company and Corporate QA and Procedure Manuals in all aspects of day-to-day activities.
• Report any quality related non-conformances as required by the QA Procedures.
Qualifications/Experience/Skills:
• Full working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS 10.x. Knowledge of Spatial Analyst or VB coding within ArcGIS an advantage but not essential.
• BSc/MSc in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) or related degree or equivalent industry experience with GIS / ESRI based products.
• Solid understanding of coordinate reference systems and datum transformations is essential
• Good understanding of Microsoft Excel
• Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the O&G industry, with a knowledge of the seismic industry an advantage
• Demonstrable experience and understanding of large spatial datasets, data capture techniques and geoprocessing tools. (including georeferencing maps and digitizing spatial data)
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
• Aptitude to work quickly, with a self-sufficient approach to problem solving
