Dear all,
We are pleased to announce the 2017 UK-SEDI meeting, a one-day RAS specialist discussion meeting on all aspects of the deep Earth, including mantle and core processes, observations and models.
Date: Friday May 12, 2017
Time: 10:00 – 16:00
Location: Burlington House, Piccadilly, London
Website: http://www.see.leeds.ac.uk/research/igt/deep-earth-research/uksedi-2017/
Invited speakers: Alex Fournier (IPGP) and Matt Jackson (UCSB)
The Study of the Earth’s Deep Interior (SEDI) focusses on the study of Earth’s mantle and core and has links to comparative planetology. The meeting will comprise invited review talks, contributed student-presented talks and end with a panel discussion about the big, unsolved questions in deep Earth research. Additionally we will have the opportunity for poster presentations over an extended lunch. This meeting will help to identify important topics in deep Earth research to which the UK SEDI community might contribute and we hope to foster new collaborations between UK and international deep Earth researchers. Submissions for contributed talks (abstract required) or posters (title required) on any SEDI-related theme are welcome.
See the website for details of abstract submission and (on-the-day) registration.
Note that travel support for students wishing to attend will be available; details of this will be confirmed soon and announced on the website.
We look forward to seeing you in London.
