Applications are invited for two posts of Associate Professor (or Professor) of Physical and Theoretical Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry. The successful candidates will also be appointed to a Tutorial Fellowship at Merton College (position one) or Wadham College (position 2) under arrangements described in the Job Description and Person Specification.
Applications are invited from those with research interests in all areas of physical and theoretical/computational chemistry and its boundaries with other disciplines. Preference may be given to those undertaking experimental programmes of research.
The successful candidates will hold a doctorate in physical and/or theoretical chemistry or a related field, and have a proven track record of high-quality research and publication at an internationally excellent standard, along with evidence of imaginative research plans and the potential to lead and manage new research initiatives.
The postholders will be required to engage in original research within the field of physical chemistry (interpreted broadly) and/or theoretical chemistry and/or boundaries with other disciplines; to secure research funding, and to carry out teaching and demonstrating at undergraduate and graduate level.
