Academic Book Week event - Creating the Future of Academic Publishing: Strengthening the Research Ecosystem
Emerald would like to invite you to re-energise the debate around Impact, Innovation and Interdisciplinarity within academic publishing at a free event (with limited capacity) on Monday 23rd January 2017, at London South Bank University, as part of Academic Book Week. 'Creating the Future of Academic Publishing: Strengthening the Research Ecosystem' will essentially be an 'unconference' where we want to encourage discussion and debate around the relationship between academics and publishers and facilitate dialogue between all areas of the research ecosystem. The evening event will kick off with opening talks by John Holmwood (Professor of Sociology at University of Nottingham), Martin Paul Eve (Chair of Literature, Technology and Publishing at Birkbeck, University of London) and Katharine Reeve (Course Leader, BA Publishing Degree, Bath Spa University) all exploring ways to strengthen the research ecosystem. Teams of academics will then choose topics of their choice (Impact, Innovation, Interdisciplinarity) to debate in smaller groups. The debates will be led by you - so come prepared with questions!
