The Natural History Museum is one of the world’s leading museums, internationally recognised for its dual role as a centre of excellence in scientific research and as a leader in the presentation of natural history through exhibitions, public programmes, publications and the web.
The Natural History Museum (NHM), has a long history of working in the area of disease research, most notably on understanding the identity, nature and diversification of parasites and vectors. Our unique selling points include expert identification, biology, life cycle elucidation and broader ecology.
NHM is currently undertaking, in the first instance, a five-year multi-country trials project to determine the feasibility of interrupting the transmission of soil-transmitted helminthiasis (STH), and to develop cost-effective strategies for scaling up STH elimination programmes.
We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive data manager to develop and implement a multiyear data management plan that successfully enables the harmonised collection, cleaning, sharing and storage of data across multiple trial sites and partners to ensure the evidence required to determine the feasibility of eliminating STH.
The successful applicant will be working within the DeWorm3 Team, NHM’s Open Data and Informatics group, and the NHM’s Technology Solutions Department in the interface between scientific research, statistical analysis, and informatics. The applicant should have an excellent understanding of data management, preferably from similar work in resource-limited settings.
Due to the multi-country nature of the project, the successful applicant for this role may, at times, be required to work hours that span the work day in several locations (i.e. 10am to 6:30pm GMT). International travel (up to 20%) will also be required as part of the role.
