Dear colleague,
I'm benchmarking approaches to email retention for my organisation and would be grateful for any example policy summaries and approaches that you can provide. (apologies if I'm repeating old discussions!)
I'm particularly interested in approaches to mailbox size / quotas as a way of driving user behaviour e.g. encouraging filing or saving to EDRMS', and the prohibition of PST files.
To illustrate our thinking, our early proposal is currently:
1. Some emails are records and must be saved to the EDRMS
2. 6 month quota on user mailbox i.e. no emails older than 6 months are permitted in mailbox
3. Eventually a ban on PSTs
4. Use of a 'compliance vault' that will store all emails sent and received for 7 years
Any information you can provide would be gratefully received.
