Hi Randeep
We have a lot of overseas nurses who require this. Basically the scenario is this. The Home Office will not issue a visa without a contract of employment. Our NHS Trust will not issue a contract of employment without health clearance. We therefore pass them as fit with the caveat that they are seen in the first week of employment during which time we discuss whether or not they have any new symptoms which may relate to open pulmonary TB, and also undertake testing for latent TB. If they have had a CXR that shows any abnormality prior to entering the UK (with the exception of a CXR that confirms TB) we re-Xray them on arrival in the UK.
Hope this helps.

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] TB clearance
Hi All,
Is a UK Pre-Departure TB detection program medical certificate satisfactory evidence to say that the person is clear. The reason why I ask this is because on the bottom of the certificate it states that 'this document contains information in connection with your application for a UK visa ONLY and does not constitute a diagnosis or assurance of health for any other purpose...'
