MESSAGE FOLLOWS:
Dear Colleague,
Please promote this to your students on any relevant courses, including Audio Engineering, Sound Engineering, Music Technology, Digital Music, Music Production, Commercial Music, Sound Design, Electronic Engineering, Computing, Signal Processing etc.
Returning for its seventh year, the Audio Engineering Society UK section is hosting their annual student conference UP Your Output! The event provides students with the opportunity to learn about all aspects of audio engineering through keynote lectures and workshops from major industry figures and technical demos from manufacturers. We have a really exciting line up at this year’s event.
This year’s conference is being hosted by the School of Media Arts and Technology, Southampton Solent University, and co-organised by the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research, University of Southampton. It is to be held on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th March 2017.
The conference website can be found at www.upyouroutput.com.
• UP Your Output is aimed primarily at undergraduate students, although post-graduates are also most welcome to attend. The only stipulation is that you are a student member of the Audio Engineering Society.
• Recent graduates who are AES members and who have graduated in the past two years are also eligible. Student members from outside the UK are very welcome to attend.
• Registration is FREE for eligible students.
Registration
Registration for the event opens on Friday 20th January 2017 at 9am. Tickets are FREE for eligible students, but places are limited. You will need your AES membership number to register. You can register for the conference via the website.
More information can be found at www.upyouroutput.com/registration. Places are limited so early registration is essential.
If students are not already a student member of AES, the student membership rate of $50 USD gets student access not only to this conference, but to a host of other career opportunities, member benefits and even free plugins! The conference alone is well worth the cost.
You can join the AES at: http://www.aes.org/membership/
Student Poster Competition
This year, for the first time, there is the opportunity for students to showcase their own project work in the student poster competition. This competition requires entrants to summarise their technical, research or production based project, related to any form of audio engineering, in the form of an A1 size academic poster.
Prizes include plugins bundles from Acustica Audio, Solid State Logic and iZotope, with the top prizes being worth over £1000 of plugins. Projects must be individual, rather than group based projects. For more information on this element of the event, head to the UP! 2017 call for posters page: http://upyouroutput.com/student-poster-competition/
If you need extra information about UP! please email [log in to unmask] or check out the website www.upyouroutput.com
