Dear all,
at our alchemist liquid handling robot (Rigaku) the source
plate detector is broken. There is no light.
We don't need the detector. Therefore we want to ask if someone knows if
the detector can be disabled in the software or if one can just shortcut
the cable or where to buy such a detector?
Since Formulatrix took over the support of the Rigaku Automation
instruments they
request either a Service contract or a Customer support Agreement (CSA)
to be signed
to obtain any help/suggestion/advice from Formulatrix. As many of you
probably already
know the CSA hourly service rate is 250$/hour and a minimum charge of 30
minutes per incident.
As we at the moment do not have CSA not the Service Contract, the
Formulatrix support
naturally did not answer if the detector can be disabled software-wise
or if one can
just shortcut the cable...
The fact that we just bought a ~270.000 EUR worth Formulatrix imager did
not improve
our position nor treatment. I understand that a company has to earn money,
but this business style is only affordable if one has a world-monopoly
of the market.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions and help,
best regards Kristina
