I'm all for collaboration and partnerships, but am increasingly worried about the pressures to be competitive, between institutions in the light of TEF and league tables, between staff competing for promotion, and not least between students for all sorts of reasons.
I hope and trust that some of your submissions will throw light on this situation, written from the sharp end of student engagement (and not from retired folk like me).
Wishing all SEDA folk a very good Christmas, bolstered by the satisfaction of having written a good piece for your journal, while the festive food gets digested?

The aim of this special edition is to provide an opportunity to explore and share work on staff-student partnership and student engagement. If you are involved in any innovative student engagement project, as a member of staff or student, please consider writing this up into a submission for this special edition of our peer-reviewed journal. All submissions will be reviewed by academic staff and trained student reviewers.
