Collaborative Editing (CE) systems allow users to create and edit 
content together even though they may be in physically disparate 
locations. A decade ago, CE systems that provided real-time 
collaborative editing were a niche market, and research into this area 
was limited to a small segment within the field of Computer Science. 
Today, the world is seeing an exposing in interest in CE. There is 
widespread end-user interest in CE, and a large number of developers and 
researchers are becoming increasingly familiar with the underlying 
science and enabling technologies.

This workshop builds on the success of the previous fourteen workshops. 
The focus of this year’s workshop is: 1) to explore recent advances in 
the technologies that enable collaborative editing systems, 2) to 
evaluate the adoption of these technologies by commercial industry and 
the open source communities, and 3) to foster an exchange of ideas 
between CE researchers and end-user CE systems builders. The goal is to 
increase the adoption of recent technological advancements in CE 
research by practitioners and to have practitioners identify real-world 
challenges for future research.

We invite participation from academic and industry researchers, 
commercial and open source developers building real world CE systems, 
human factors and user experience experts, and end-users interested in 
advancing the state-of-the-art in CE. It is important for each 
participant (or group of participants, if coming as a group) to 
contribute to the dialogue. Therefore, each participant is requested to 
submit a position paper describing the presentation or discussion they 
wish to contribute to the workshop. While not mandatory, those 
prospective participants submitting a position paper will be given 
priority if space becomes limited. We invite submissions pertaining to 
all topics relevant to CE and CE systems.

== Paper Submission ==
Each position paper should contain 2-6 pages summarizing the content to 
be presented and/or discussed. While certainly not required, if your 
topic pertains to a system and that system is easily demonstrated, a 
demonstration is also encouraged. All papers should be formatted using 
the standard ACM SIGCHI format and should include an abstract of no more 
than 150 words.

Submissions will be reviewed by the workshop organizing committee based 
on relevancy, novelty, and quality. Accepted papers will be published 
online on the workshops web site. It is required for at least one author 
of an accepted paper to register and attend the workshop in order to 
present the material.
