"The most practical course I've ever attended: I could relate every point covered to my job and the challenges our service is facing. I now feel ready, able and confident to tackle something I'd previously never been comfortable with."
Cohort 2016 member
Fundraising for Archives has worked with 205 archive professionals throughout 2016. We are now inviting you to join our 2017 cohort to receive a tailored 6 month programme of training, mentoring and fundraising support alongside a small group of colleagues from the sector. Since Fundraising for Archives is a Heritage Lottery Funded programme running until December 2017, this is the final cohort programme we will be able to offer.
Why join a cohort?
* A 6 month programme means 6 months of an experienced fundraiser being just a phone call away. Our trainers are there to support you 1-to-1 throughout the cohort training and can work with you on specific bids, fundraising strategies or advocacy
* We tailor the programme to your needs. Courses are pitched at the best level for your fundraising experience and expectations, and you can attend modules that would benefit you and your service most
* Only the cohort programme offers our additional module, Bringing Fundraising to Life. This topic looks at soft skills such as opening up conversation with a funder and how to find funder
* You will undertake your fundraising journey alongside 11 other colleagues. You'll be able to share experiences and learn from each others' activities over the 6 month period
* Its free!
"For me within a very small service, the cohort had two really useful strengths: getting access to professional fundraisers from outside of the sector and useful roundtable discussions with other archivists from different services. I would not have gotten such ready access to either without the cohort. I now have A Plan and am working towards A Grand Plan."
Cohort 2016 member
We will be running 4 cohorts with 12 places available on each. The programme begins in January 2017 and you will attend 6 training courses, 1 session taking place each month. 4 of these courses are core modules, the building blocks to fundraising:
* Financial Planning
* Advocacy & Building a Case for Support
* Developing a Fundraising Strategy
* Measuring Outcomes & Evaluation
Once these have been delivered, you will have the option to attend 2 additional modules that meet your needs. Full information about the programme and the modules we offer can be found at: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/archives-sector/projects-and-programmes/fundraising-for-archives/
To make the programme as accessible as possible, location of cohorts will be determined by where successful applicants are based. We have provisionally planned January courses in London, Manchester & Birmingham. An additional city will be decided once applications have been received. These cities are flexible to change for future cohort training dates. Successful applicants will be consulted on this to ensure that you will be able to join us on the course.
We very much look forward to hearing from you.
