italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
The British School at Rome and École française de Rome are pleased to announce the launch of a regular Modern Italian History Seminar in Rome. To be hosted by the various Academies, the seminar’s aims are:
o to bring together visiting and resident Italianists;
o to develop a network of permanent academics within the city and Italy that will enable better connection with visiting scholars;
o to further awareness of newly published and current research underway in Italy;
The seminar will be very informal and we initially envisage 3-4 being held in each of the winter and spring terms. Sessions can be conducted in Italian or English. The first seminar will be held on
Monday 7 November at the British School at Rome, 17.30-19.30:
Vanda Wilcox (John Cabot University): ‘Per una più grande Italia? Motivation and morale in the First World War’
We are currently planning sessions for 2017 and would welcome proposals from scholars of modern Italy in all fields and at all levels (doctoral included), who may be interested in presenting their work (completed or in progress). To express an interest please contact either convenor below.
We look forward to hearing from you/seeing you soon.
