[R](www.r-project.org) is a (free) open source programming language and
software environment for statistical computing and graphics. R is
rapidly becoming the leading language in statistics and, today, is oneof
the most popular tools of choice for professionals in academia and the
industry. This course is concerned with how to program *efficiently*
with R. It will cover common pitfalls when writing R code, provide
general hints and tips, code profiling and a brief introduction to RCpp.
Finally, we will discuss leveraging parallel programming.
## Course requirements

version of R
* It is recommended that partipants also install RStudio.
