Archives Assistant (0.4fte)
The Library & Archives Service of this major international postgraduate medical school is seeking an Archives Assistant to assist the Archives team in the operation and management of the archive and records management service. Key tasks will include operating the archives search room, answering enquiries, assisting with the operation of the records management service and participating in dissemination activities to promote the archives service.
To apply you should be a graduate with an interest in archives. This position would suit someone wishing to gain experience in order to pursue a career in archives. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work unsupervised are essential.
This post is part-time, 0.4FTE, working Monday and Wednesday, and is a fixed term for a period of 12 months. The post holder shares duties and responsibilities with the 0.6FTE Archives Assistant working Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The salary will be on the Professional Support Pathway Grade 2 scale in the range £20,609 - £31,808 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Director’s Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available.
