Thanks to the support of the Wellcome Trust’s Research Resources in Medical History programme, The Royal London Hospital Archives are seeking an experienced archivist to work with a wide range of archive materials relating to the treatment of infectious diseases, particularly tuberculosis, lupus and sexually transmitted infections.
The post holder will be responsible for cataloguing, repackaging and digitisation across a wide range of formats such as microfilm and photographic materials. Most of the records relate to clinical treatment and originate from hospitals and clinics such as the Royal Brompton, Harefield, the London Chest and The Royal London Hospital/Ambrose King Centre. In addition, the post holder will be responsible for increasing awareness of the existence of these records through promotional activities and online publications. The Project Archivist will be expected to supervise the work of the Digitisation Project Assistant, who is already in post.
