Salary £30,530- £34,880 inclusive of Outer London Weighting (depending on performance/experience)
The City of London owns and manages some 4,140 hectares (10,000 acres) of London’s open space, of which Epping Forest and its buffer lands comprise nearly 3,310 hectares (8,000 acres). Situated at the boundary of NE London and SW Essex, Epping Forest is a unique public open space, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Special Area of Conservation with many thousands of visitors per annum.
We are looking for a GIS professional for maternity cover. Candidates should be self-motivated, pro-active, well organised and resourceful GIS professionals with a good eye for detail. You will be responsible for the delivery, development and day-to-day management of Epping Forest GIS and GPS data and associated mapping, spatial analysis and a technical support service
The successful candidate will have an appropriate degree or equivalent job experience, as well as demonstrable skills with a variety of GIS/GPS technologies, cartographic and first line technical support work, preferably gained in an environmental organisation. A good working knowledge of ArcGIS 10.0 is required and experience with MapInfo and GPS software and hardware would be ideal. A full driver’s licence is essential.
