Hi Emma
I was interested in your email as I've just prepared a PDF for staff on recycling Turnitin assignments. I don't get that warning message. When I recycle, the existing Turnitin assignments are cleared of student data and can be re-used. New Turnitin assignments can be added as normal. Assignments that are not required can be removed but do need to have the corresponding Grade Centre column removed as well. I think that's normal TII behaviour but our staff tend to forget about that.
I think you might have a different procedure to ourselves in moving courses from year to year - we keep the same courses from year to year. I think you might copy?
Regards
Marion

Subject: Turnitin Direct & Recycling Assignments.
(Cross posting to a Turnitin list as well) Hi We're using TII Direct 2.5 & following roll over the only option when you want to add a TII assignment is 'recycle'. It warns (with a sightly alarming message!) you that you'll lose access to it via Blackboard - but there is no other option.
From testing, as far as I can tell, the original course (i.e. the one that's been rolled over from) still maintains the link to Turnitin, it's just the new years' course gets a new instance of the Assessment. So, if you don't want that assignment at all this year, you have to delete it (& the associated columns in the grade centre). Is that a correct interpretation of what's going on??
Thanks for your help.
Emma
