The post is based at the Kent History and Library Centre, which houses historic collections, including manuscript and printed material, maps, photographs and drawings, relating to 1300 years of Kent’s history. Applicants will have a passion for history and share our commitment to making these documents accessible to all members of the Kentish community.
We are seeking a Heritage Services Officer to join the Archives and Local History Services Team to assist in delivering, developing and promoting our services. An excellent communicator with good IT, interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to meet deadlines, you will have previous relevant experience including cataloguing archive collections to international standards using archival cataloguing software.
The role involves supporting our public service through answering enquiries, both remote and in person; the paid research service; assisting with delivering the outreach programme; collections work including appraisal, accessioning and cataloguing; liaising with partners and depositors and managing volunteers.
