Are you based in Scotland and being asked to think more about evaluation? Not sure where to start? Then come and join the Visitor Studies Group (VSG) in Edinburgh for an interactive, in-depth workshop where you will have the opportunity to work with and learn from fellow practitioners in an informal environment.
When: Thursday 22nd September from 10am until 4pm.
Where: Museums Galleries Scotland, Waverley Gate, 2-4 Waterloo Place, Edinburgh EH1 3EG.
Cost: £50 (includes free individual membership of the Visitor Studies Group until March 2017).
(There will be a maximum of 12 places available for this event.)
Bookings can be made via Eventbrite: http://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/visitor-evaluation-the-basics-tickets-26954661117
Led by Sheena Muncie, Director of Scotinform and former VSG Co-Chair, and Susie Ironside, Visitor Studies Curator at Glasgow Museums and VSG Committee Member, the day will take visitor evaluation back to basics, exploring how to define research aims and objectives; how to select research methods, and how to resource and analyse data collection. This workshop offers the opportunity to work alongside a select group of peers- sharing skills, knowledge and expertise- in a supportive and highly collaborative environment.
With lots of opportunities for practically applying the skills and knowledge gleaned from the day, you will leave with a sound knowledge of the basics of visitor research and the tools needed to carry it out effectively back in your workplace
As a special incentive for those new to the Visitors Studies Group all event attendees will also receive an individual membership for the Visitor Studies Group until March 2017 as part of their ticket price.
