Hi,
Suppose I performed small volume corrections (SVCs; 0.005 uncorrected and then FWE correction) to test a priori hypotheses and found 5 ROIs significant in my study. I know I can show SVC results and statistics in a table, but my question is how to present SVC results of ststictical maps in a figure.
(1). Use a 0.005 uncorrected whole-brain map to show these 5 regions (there is a t-value scale). In the figure legend, say "For visualization purpose, the threshold is set to p < 0.005 uncorrected, with the activation map displayed on the average structural image." This figure contains one t-value scale.
(2). If SVC result for ROI-1 is FWER corrected p<0.05, with k=30, select Results again and use ROI-1 as the inclusive mask and k=30 as extent threshold. Then I get one map with a significant blob in ROI-1 as well as one t-value scale. Repeat this process for all ROIs. Since each ROI map has a distinct t-value scale, this figure would contain 5 ROI maps with 5 separate t-value scale in total.
(3). same as (2) but not showing any t-value scales.
(4). Use imcalc to joint these 5 ROIs as one single ROI, then repeat steps in (2). This figure showing these 5 regions would then contain one t-value scale.
Which method is correct or better?
Thanks.
Mike
