I have added to my statistics research guide, which contains in depth
coverage of general statistics sources and United States Government
agencies statistical resources, a new section that addresses the use of
humor about statistics. Since statistics is a vital area of study in both
the social sciences and sciences and increasingly important in the
humanities as well with the growth of digital scholarship, techniques that
help those who find learning statistics difficult, improve their ability
to acquire its skills are very important as well. Humor is discussed as
one of those techniques. My statistics research guide now has a section
devoted to the relationships between humor and statistics and learning
statistics with a group of database results and links to individual
sources that feature this combination of subjects. The content provided
ranges from comic strips and jokes to scholarly articles and books.
