Although my focus is on British history's African descent contribution, sometimes information has been gleaned from distant sources.
So page 172 of my website - jeffreygreen.co.uk - uses a New Zealand newspaper of 1889 which reported a court case in Australia, and uncovers aspects of the financial arrangements for the black American choral group led by Frederick Loudin who spent years in Britain.
Recent articles on my site include page 169 : 'A Black Gay Hustler, London 1838', and some thoughts on blacked-up performers: '171 : A ‘black’ presence in Victorian English folk culture'. There was also page 163 : 'Reuben Nixon the incorrigible liar, 1853-1858'.
Readers of the pages have included descendants, and residents of USA, Jamaica, Cayman Islands, France, Australia and various places in Britain.
