At Newcastle we have a long tradition of research in statistics, with particular strength in data science, bioinformatics and biostatistics. We are heavily involved in the University development of Science Central, a £200 million project bringing together academia, the public sector, business and industry on a new site in the heart of the city. We are partners with the School of Computing Science in an EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Cloud Computing for Big Data.
Applicants will be expected to carry out and publish high-quality research in statistical methodology, contribute to collaborative research programmes and play a role in the teaching and administrative activities within the School. Candidates with exceptional research records can expect reduced teaching loads for at least the first three years after appointment.
