Job description
The BFI is the lead organisation for film in the UK. We are a Government arm's length body and distributor of Lottery funds for film.
The Collections Information Database Specialist will provide support to users of the Collections Information Database (CID) and its associated systems as well as be the main liaison between users and the Collections Systems Manager. You will be the first point of contact for technical queries and problem reports, taking responsibility for diagnosing issues with CID and its integrated systems, resolving them in conjunction with Collections System Manager and Adlib support.
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level and have excellent general IT skills, with a high level of competence using Windows operating systems, ideally with exposure to working within a Windows server environment. You will have demonstrable previous experience of using collections management systems, preferably Adlib, and practical knowledge of their use in collections management procedures such as location and movement control. Proven experience of working in a technical support role or similar front-line customer service area is essential. You will have a friendly and helpful manner and be able to communicate well with people at all levels within the BFI, both verbally and in writing.
