Hi Lucy
You can actually do speech to text and text to speech on the Mac without a programme or app at all.
To use them you have to set up hot keys to get them started. Rather than trying to explain in loads of words I'd recommend YouTube and other tutorials which should show you. Just look up 'speech to text on Mac' and you should find videos to help.
Kind regards
Claire Salter

If you email me the equipment you currently have at your disposal I can cobble together a "freeware" software list depending on your resources and requirements. I have worked through a great deal of free apps and software so am happy to advise once I have a few additional bits of information.

I’m currently re-submitting 3 essays (no extenuating circumstances) – which I’ve had very little support with from the Disability and Welfare Team( with resources for my personal needs). But I’ve met with all 3 tutors to establish where I’m going wrong with my essays; and I’ve been given further guidance on my structuring, grammar and the use of the English/Academic language. However, this has been an ongoing issue from my first year in 2013 on my social worker degree programme – which has left me feeling anxious, deflated and stressed in not acquiring the level to pass my modules.
