David
There were about 5,500 deaths in 2014 from asbestos and rising cases in the years since. Mesothelioma is expected in 2018. This is just a prediction so it may take longer to peak. Deaths from asbestos will unfortunately continue to happen way past my death most likely. Which I hope will not be from asbestos and a long time in the future.
I hope that you will be posting to the list about every single one of these deaths, otherwise it seems rather unfair of you picking on the plight of unfortunate people to make your party political broadcasts for the "UK does a really bad job and should spend more party".
I really think that the list gets that you have a problem with asbestos (and other) regulation in the UK. But I don't think this is actually helping people work together to address matters in a proportional and realistic way. How about we share ways we have risk assessed or worked to a sound outcome where asbestos has been a problem instead?
Please could I ask that you start things off with how you have address asbestos completely effectively in your LA? Now that would get this list to back to what it used to be as a helping and sharing knowledge network.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards
Richard
