Yes, for the spatial parameters.
The scan cover should be exactely the same between the fieldmap and the EPI. It means that slice thickness, GAP, number of slices, Field of view, matrix of acquisition and scan coverage have to be identical. If it is not the case, you have an issue. In this case, it is better to not do unwarping of your EPI data with the fieldmap because it could introduce more problem than resolve.
For the temporal parameters (TR, TE, ...) it normal that it's not the same because it is two different sequence.

Hi SPM experts,
I learn from some research that the parameters (matrix, FOV...) of acquired field maps are identical to those in EPI BOLD data. However, I did notice that the field map parameters are not the same as EPI data in other studies. Is it a must that both parameters should be identical?
