Dear all,
Swarmi’s quote “there is no other” is a spiritual statement said to
express that people should seek the truth by dealing only with their
own ego and nowhere else.
Here, the word “other” and the meaning of the quote should not be
confused with the technical term “otherness” a societal thus
interpersonal phenomena with consequences such as discrimination and
alienation in social theory; a discourse not based on spirituality but
on evidence.
In addition to this, decolonial thought is not developmentalist like
the traditional critique of political ecomony of Maldonado and
Bonsiepe, also evident in the texts presented on the platform's
website. Therefore, the connection, if there is any, needs to be
clarified.
I too congratulate my colleagues for their debut.
Best regards from Istanbul Tech,
Cigdem Kaya
