This is a fixed term appointment for 6 months with the Acquisitions Services Team.
The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is one of the foremost social science universities in the world. The British Library of Political and Economic Science was conceived as a laboratory for the social sciences. The Library provides a place where people interested in the study and understanding of society can come together and find the materials for their work. The dynamic pursuit of this vision since 1896 has built one of the most outstanding social science libraries in the world, and a unique asset for LSE.
The ideal candidate for this fixed-term position should have a good general standard of education, numerate and literate (e.g. GCSE passes in Maths and English or equivalent); should be able to communicate well with a wide range of people and to convey information clearly and appropriately; have the ability to demonstrate a professional approach to Library users/customers and to deliver a consistent, effective service; and have self-motivation and the ability to organise their own workload.
