Dear Colleagues,
EPSRC is holding Mathematical Sciences Regional Workshops on 13, 15 and 17 June at (respectively) the Universities of Glasgow, University of Manchester and Imperial College, London (see web-links below). Please note that:
"These workshop events are intended to allow the broader research community to receive and discuss information based on current EPSRC strategic activities such as Balancing Capability, Equality and Diversity and the new Delivery plan. If this is an event that you would be interested in attending then please complete the short survey below to express your interest in attending."
The deadline for submission of expressions of interest is 17.00 on 1st June 2016. Invites to the event will be distributed soon thereafter.
The issues to be addressed in the workshops are of huge importance to OR. EPSRC has recently rethought its approach to the discipline. EPSRC has now developed a new research area called simply 'Operational Research' . Its current 'Balancing Capability' exercise will result in a statement regarding the degree of priority of all research areas for funding (Grow, Maintain or Reduce).
It would be good if these workshops had strong representation from the OR community. Please attend if you can.
Sincerely,
Kevin Glazebrook
