Subject: FW: Conference 2016, Glasgow: programme update
Dear list members,
Bookings are still open for the 2016 ARCLIB (UK Architecture Librarians) conference in Glasgow from 6-8 July 2016 and we are now delighted to be able to update the programme and include details of the Friday afternoon. We will be taken on an exclusive visit to Gillespie Kidd & Coia’s iconic St. Peter’s Seminary near the village of Cardross which was the site of Hinterland; the opening event of Scotland’s Festival of Architecture 2016. Not only is St Peter’s one of Scotland’s finest examples of modernist, brutalist architecture but it is currently under custodianship of public arts organisation NVA who are repurposing the derelict site to create unique performance and exhibition space – perfectly embodying the conference themes of Information, Inspiration, and Regeneration.
More information on NVA’s project is available on their website: http://nva.org.uk/artwork/kilmahew-st-peters/ or by watching this video: https://vimeo.com/122738190
The programme has been updated to include a shorter lunch prior to the coach collection. The coach will travel from Glasgow to Cardross, and return to the city via Glasgow International Airport. The draft programme is attached and bookings can be made via the ARCLIB website: http://arclib.info/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=86&Itemid=81
Due to the late amendment of the programme bookings will now close on Friday 13th May.
Cheers,
Sally Bell + David Buri
