This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Research Statistician to work with Dr Adrian Mander, Director of Hub for Trials Methodology Research, to carry out cutting edge statistical methodology research that will be applied to substantive medical problems in different disease areas, notably dementias. You will join the internationally-renowned MRC Biostatistics Unit and teams that have strong focus on adaptive clinical trials and stratified.
As part of its involvement in Dementias Platform UK (DPUK), the Unit is seeking to appoint a research statistician in Biostatistics who will develop and apply state-of-the-art risk trials design methodologies that use stratification information and using the results from the integrative/hierarchical modelling methodologies to data arising from Dementias Platform UK cohorts.
You will have a PhD in statistics, a strong statistical computing and programming background, and have an interest in developing new trial designs to cope with the future of personalising treatment interventions. Experience in clinical trials methodology is a bonus but more importantly you should have solid experience in Bayesian statistics. You must have good communication skills and be able to contribute substantially to the writing of scientific papers.
The position will be based in the Design and Analysis of Randomised Trial theme and will be part of a large group of researchers with interests in trial designs. There are opportunities to work with other teams within the Unit.

Starting salary will be in the range of £28,007 - £30,791 per annum, supported by a flexible pay and reward policy, 30 days annual leave entitlement, and an optional MRC final salary Pension Scheme.
