Dear colleagues,
I'd be grateful for suggestions to assist a PhD student who has
started here.
Briefly they have a background in analytical chemistry and
pharmacology. The project is itself is mostly environmental
chemistry, concerning the flow and fate of phthalates in the
environment. However, there is a health impact component, and a
significant environmental survey will be needed (samples of water,
sewage etc..). There might also be a small human bio-markers study.
The student would benefit from some training in basic ideas of
public health, surveys, and environmental health. Looking at several
of the existing summer schools in epidemiology, many seem more
focussed on design of case-control studies or RCTs, and the
associated methods. This would not fit this persons needs.
Any suggestions for such a course?
Regards,
Anthony Staines
