Following close consultation with industry, the Institute for Transport Studies (ITS) at the University of Leeds has launched an exciting new MSc Mathematical Modelling for Transport, starting in September 2016.
While mathematical models have been relied upon to understand, analyse and design transportation systems for many decades, we are in a time of rapid change. New technologies are being harnessed to deliver new mobility services, and huge volumes of data promise to reveal our changing patterns of movement.
Investigating possible futures for interconnected complex systems of transportation requires mathematically fluent researchers skilled in data analytics, modelling and visualisation. With the launch of MSc Mathematical Modelling for Transport, ITS aims to empower each new generation of graduates with these abilities, and a real understanding of the world of transport today, and in the future.
