Dear Colleagues,
Several people wrote to thank me for the notice of the useful online library of economics, philosophy, political science, and sociology at URL:
http://oll.libertyfund.org
One person inquired if I make use of other resources. I do. There are two important online reference works on philosophy. The first is the Stanford Encyclopaedia of Philosophy at URL:
http://plato.stanford.edu
The other is the Internet Encyclopaedia of Philosophy at:
http://www.iep.utm.edu
There are two more sources of great value in philosophy. One is the Christian Classics Ethereal Library. This library has been compiled from an evangelical Christian viewpoint, so much of the material involves theology. At the same time, many theologians were also philosophers, so the library contains books of value to those interested in philosophy.

Another is The Catholic Encyclopaedia. Again, this is a valuable resource for scholarship in philosophy and general history as well as for religious studies. You will find it at URL:

or

A similiar encyclopedia developed from the Jewish perspective is The Jewish Encyclopaedia. Like the Catholic Encyclopaedia and most of the books in the two libraries, the original content was published prior to the copyright window, and different groups have made these resources available. The Jewish Encyclopaedia is especially useful in history, philosophy, theology, and religious studies:

For those interested in anthropology, I recommend the independent newsletter sponsored by the Wenner-Grenn Foundation. Titled Sapiens, the publication involves “anthropology and everything human.” You can subscribe to a free email bulletin that will inform you about new articles and current contents. Closer to home, three design journals are available with full open access. The first and oldest journal in design research is one of these. That is Visible Language. Now fifty years old, Visible Language makes all content available after a one-year subscribers-only window. You can read Visible Language at URL:
http://visiblelanguagejournal.com
International Journal of Design was the first full open access journal for design research. Now in its tenth year, the International Journal of Design has become one of the most respected in our field, and it is one of the few journals to be indexed in all three Web of Knowledge indexes, SCI-E, SSCI, and A&HCI. You will find the International Journal of Design at:

Finally, there is She Ji - The Journal of Design, Economics, and Innovation. As the editor of She Ji, I am happy to say that our owner — Tongji University — and our publishing platform of Elsevier agreed to make She Ji open access from our first issue. It is also important to note that none of these three journals charge author fees. Visible Language, International Journal of Design, and She Ji all function to serve the design research community and each of us has the benefit of sponsorship. You will find She Ji at:
