If the statuette has been cast recently the epoxy is likely to be offgassing
for a while and may pose a problem. If the statuette is months or years old it
is less likely to cause an issue. If you do as Helena suggests it is a good
guide but if it has been made recently I'd be wary even if there is no
smell...
