Postdoctoral Research Associate position at Newcastle University (U.K.)
A postdoctoral research associate position is available in the group of Dr. Nicholas R. Walker in the School of Chemistry at Newcastle University. The successful applicant will use broadband (chirped-pulse Fourier transform microwave) rotational and infrared spectroscopy to answer fundamental questions in catalysis and biochemistry through studies of metal-containing complexes isolated in the gas phase. They may also explore applications of broadband rotational spectroscopy in gas sensing.
Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant subject area with experimental skills in gas phase molecular spectroscopy and/or dynamics. Expertise in computational chemistry will also be valued.
The position is tenable for 1 year. The closing date for applications is 26 May 2016.
Interested candidates are requested to obtain further information and apply through an online application system quoting vacancy reference D34302R;
