Hello all
This may be of interest if you or one of your peers is looking for temporary work.
Our client, a London University, is seeking someone with a background working with open access publications within academic research repositories. This job has been pitched initially as a three month temporary contract, with the possibility of a more substantial role to follow.
The job will involve data validation of research repository records provided by the university’s academic research community staff, as well as liaising with academics to request publications or further information to ensure full metadata is captured, consistent and accurate. The Open Access Librarian will be responsible for correcting metadata descriptions of a wide variety of scholarly outputs, creating and editing research repository records, and uploading full text material into the research repository. Furthermore the job will involve checking copyright and publisher embargo polices and providing advice to academics on Gold and Green Open Access publishing, archiving and associated repository support services.
This job is a good opportunity to work in a small team focussed on best practice for open access publication management. You will build upon your existing skills by providing advice on Open Access publishing services and policies for Researchers.
This job requires experience of Eprints software, as well as a background within a Higher Educational institute, while knowledge of the Research Excellence Framework (REF 2014) would be highly desirable.
Salary circa £16.00 per hour
