The WLCG reserved scope tags (wlcg, atlas, alice, lhcb, cms, tier1, tier2) were requested by WLCG.
The tags are used to identify which resources declared in GOCDB can be used by LHC VOs.
The tags are also useful to easily query for downtimes per VO.
Please, do not remove the tags, since we are already relying on them to monitor downtimes per VO.
Removing the tags won't break anything (apart from the downtimes per VO as already mentioned, but this is a manual thing) since so far there's no tool relying on them, but the plan is to use them in the future.
Regards,
Maria
