Hi,
I have a question about interpreting the dual_regression stage 3 results.
Take for example the following results.
dr_stage3_ic0024_tfce_corrp_tstat1.nii.gz 0.000000 0.964800
I have two questions:
1.) Assuming the component 24 involved bilateral regions of the temporal lobe and the dr_stage3 results shows an area within the temporal lobe/pole, say, the ps-temporal lobe... then what does this mean? does this mean that relative to component 24, which is the bilateral temporal lobe network, the posterior regions show increased connectivity with other regions of that specific network (component 24) in group 1 relative to group 2?
2.) Assuming in said component 24 (still bilateral regions of the temporal lobe) the area of increased 'connectivity' turns up in the thalamus. What does this mean? the thalamus was not originally in that network? how did it show up? does this mean that the thalamus shows increased connectivity with that network, component 24, in group 1 relative to group 2?
Final question
when choosing the number of components, is 25 a reasonable choice? I guess it depends on the experiment etc? I only ask because that was one of the options recommended by the tutorial and some papers I've seen use that so I was wondering if there was any initial rationale to choosing that specific number?
Thanks!
