Andy,
I suspect you're running into the SafeHTML filter (Sys Admin > Security > SafeHTML filter > Safe HTML Filter for Content Editor) - this appears to be active wherever the content editor is employed. We recently increased ours after having students lose wiki data greater than our previous limit (100k). Staff may not be affected; as the filter says, 'Teachers who are generally trusted users are not subjected to this filter' (I'm not sure where this is set though).
Best wishes,
Dan Levin / Student Systems / University of Manchester

Hello
Can anyone point me to documentation on the character limit for Discussion Board posts?
And is it different for students and staff? A case we're dealing with at the moment suggests that staff are allowed a lot more characters than students - unless there's some other factor we haven't been able to spot.
many thanks
Andy

We used to hit a character limit set in the SafeHTML filter… for wikis
might be worth trying that
The limit applied to staff, not students… we hit it when folk copied and pasted a bunch of WORD markup (bad people)

just checked the safe HTML filter for Content Editor - default-policy.xml and it is set to 500000:
<directive name="maxInputSize" value="500000" />
the default was 200000
<directive name="maxInputSize" value="200000" />

Hi all
We are considering whether to turn on Student Profile images this year. I was just curious whether everyone has done this or not?
If you haven't, what are the key issues that are stopping you?
Best

Hi,
Very interesting.
We have changed the policy to
<directive name="maxInputSize" value="10" />
In order to test it.
But nothing happens, we are able to write whatever we want. We have restarted services too.
Do we have do something else?.
Thanks.
