Recently there have been several posts to the list asking for
recommendations of suppliers for certain services or equipment.
First it occurred to me that perhaps it would be useful to have a
website for relevant suppliers, similar to the one run by the Museums
Association (http://www.museumsassociation.org/find-a-supplier).
Then it occurred to me that perhaps such a page already exists on the
ARA website, and, lo and behold, it does
(http://www.archives.org.uk/suppliers.html).
Do people check this page? If it were extended and updated regularly,
would people use it more? Would that be easier than searching the list
archive for relevant posts? Or is it better to carry on posting queries
to the list as and when, which will ensure you get the most up-to-date
information?
Please reply off-list if you have any thoughts. Thanks.
