1.1 A very warm welcome to our newest Organisational Member - Heriot-Watt University!
1.2 ALT and ILTA working in partnership
This week sees the Annual Conference, #ilta2016, of the Irish Learning Technology Association. The conference brings together the Irish community and international delegates to share practice and research and celebrate the Jennifer Burke Award for Innovation in Teaching and Learning. Participating in the event is one example of how we have worked actively in partnership since ALT and ILTA signed a new partnership agreement in 2014. ALT and ILTA are both membership charities working to enhance learning technology knowledge and practise in education.This year #ilta2016 we are sharing an update on accreditation for Learning Technology focused on the CMALT framework.

1.4 2016 Call for nominations for Honorary Life Membership - closing date: Friday, 10 June 2016
ALT awards Honorary Life Membership to individuals whom ALT believes have made an outstanding and sustained contribution to the advancement of ALT's aims for the development of learning technology in a regional, national or international context through research, practice, policy-development, leadership, or a combination of these.

2.1 ALT Annual Conference 2016: Connect, Collaborate, Create - ‘Early Bird’ Registration now open!
The 2016 Annual Conference of the Association for Learning Technology will take place at Warwick University, 6-8 September 2016.The conference provides an international platform for Learning Technology research, practice and policy work from across sectors. Confirmed speakers include Josie Fraser, Ian Livingstone CBE, Lia Commissar, and Donna Lanclos & David White.
Early bird registration offers a significant discount across all conference fees and is open until 30 June. ALT members are also entitled to a further 20% discount on attendance.

This webinar is about the upcoming Futurelearn course Blended Learning Essentials: Getting started - A free course for the Vocational Education and Training sector to promote effective practice and pedagogy in blended learning. The course starts on 4 July and is open to all.

2.4 ALT West Midlands Region Learning Technology Group Meeting 13 Jun 2016 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Keele University, Keele, United Kingdom
The first meeting of the WMRLTG will be held at Keele University on Monday, 13th June between 10am and 1pm. The theme of the meeting is ‘digital capability’ and we are encouraging members to offer presentations or to lead discussions at the meeting based on any of the dimensions covered in the JISC project ( http://go.alt.ac.uk/24BfvyH ).

Participatory Design & Design for Participation, a case with Talkwall. Talkwall is a micro-blogging and visualization tool, at the heart of a new research project being undertaken by University of Oslo and University of Cambridge (2016-2020), targeting secondary school students’ collaboration and critical thinking within three core domains (language, social science and natural science).
